Future Machine appeared
in Christ Church Gardens and Ronald Street Playground
on Saturday 20th April 2024.
People made and brought along puppet creatures and plants
to rewild the gardens and we spoke to the future.

From Christ Church Gardens
In early Spring 2020 I walked to Christ Church Gardens every few days,
to see what was happening and whether the blossom was ready to flower.
For the previous 2 years a group of us have met under that flowering blossom and talked about the future.
But that was before isolation.
Now we have to rethink
Mellers Primary School
in Christ Church Gardens
We have been working with staff and children at Mellers Primary School
since just before the Covid-19 lockdown in 2020.
Each year we have done a different activity with the classes in Year 3
involving the children building their own vegetable powered Future Machines,
a treasure trail around Christ Church Gardens and meeting the Future Machine.

Woodland conservationist, Iain Brooks, is working with us in Nottingham on ‘When This Tree Blossoms’ and helping out with the school workshops at Mellers Primary School in Nottingham. He has been spending some time in Christ Church Gardens doing some research on the cherry trees, Spring and the impact of climate change on the seasons changing. Here are some of his thoughts…
